Matt Chesler, CFA
Matt Chesler is a seasoned IR practitioner with over 20 years of experience as an in-house Head of IR at MDC Partners, Inc. (Nasdaq: MDCA) and as a sell-side research analyst at Deutsche Bank. He has expertise crafting strategic financial communications, building and executing IR programs globally, and maintains strong relationships across Wall Street, Bay Street and The City.
At MDC Partners, Matt served for five years as SVP Investor Relations & Finance. He was recruited by the company to be its first dedicated Head of IR where he refined the message, built out the IR function, scaled the marketing efforts domestically and globally, and raised the profile of the company among equity and high yield investors. Ultimately, he navigated the IR program through numerous adversities including financial under-performance, balance sheet pressure, dividend cut, capital raises, SEC inquiries, leadership change, Board of Directors refresh, as well as deteriorating and shifting industry conditions. Driven by a deep understanding of investors and a proactive approach, as the investment story evolved, Matt reshaped the narrative and transitioned the shareholder base multiple times.
Prior to that, Matt spent a decade at Deutsche Bank as a sell-side equity research analyst with coverage across a broad range of smidcap companies across TMT subsectors including media and internet. He was twice voted “Up and Comer” by Institutional Investor magazine and named a "Research Luminary" for his thought-leadership in online and offline audience measurement.
Matt earned his MBA from NYU Stern and undergraduate degree from Pomona College (Claremont, CA), and is a CFA Charterholder.
